Outside Guidelines
As long as there is no snow outside the children will continue to go outside everyday. Warm jackets, hats and mittens are needed everyday. If the temperature is colder than 10 degrees we will not go outside and use the gym instead. On some days it may be a judgement call from each individual classroom whether they go outside or to the gym. If your child comes to school then he/she is well enough to participate in outdoor activities. When snow arrives a warm jacket, hat mittens, boots and snow pants will be required. Full day and after-school students need boots and snow pants everyday, temperature permitting for noon and later recesses. Half day students need boots and snow pants on Wednesday only. The other days half day students will go to the gym.
If the Unified School District of De Pere (East De Pere) closes their school due to the weather we will also be closed that day. If the school decides to close while school is in session we will continue to stay open only until 3:15. Therefore our after school program for that day will not be available and all children will need to be picked up by 3:15p.m. If the District decides to have a late start due to weather we will also have a late start. Many times they will have a two hour late start so our late start would be at 10:00a.m. Before school will start at 9:00a.m. If you are not scheduled for before school, you will be charged if you come before 10:00a.m.
School Closing Notification
To be informed of school closing, late start or early release, there is a program that will automatically send you and email and/or text informing you about the status of the school closing for the De Pere School District. It is a free service. All you need to do is sign up.
To sign up: go to Fox11Wluk.com Go to the weather tab, from the list of items under weather, choose closings. There you will find the Closing Sign Up Form (under the Schools tab). You can sign up for email and/or text messages. You may even sign up for more than one school district. For our school, please choose De Pere School District. (they make the decision for all private and public schools in the East De Pere District.)
